Sometimes we need a reminder of just how valuable we are. Just us, being who we are. Quirks, awkwardness and all. Social media has made so it easy to scroll through your feed and either feel encouraged from great quotes, or discouraged by the "life-highlights" of others. It's funny how seeing people really fit, popular, gifted, funny, attractive, and well connected can inspire some... while simultaneously discouraging many more. Sometimes it can make us stop seeing ourselves the way God sees us, perfectly unique. (I'm actually in the middle of writing a book about this. #excited)
So I decided to write a children's story about it. Random right? I know. Don't judge me. I have kids so it's cool. So....here we go..
The Story of the Mr. SUN & MOONY
On the day that the sun was made, the Sun was proud to be the Sun. It was made bright & shiny. It gave heat for warmth, light to see, and a way to distinguish the day and night. Everyone was always happy when the sun came around. The sun was glad to be the sun!
One day soon after, the Creator said “Mr. Sun, I’m going to give you some company.” And on that day the stars and planets were created, He created the Moon too. The Moon was glad to be in space, and over the years he started to develop a friendship with his new homie Mr. Sun!
As Mr. Sun and the Moon grew closer, he gave the Moon a nickname - “Moony.” Mr. Sun and Moony hung out all the time, chillin' in space without a care in the universe. They even liked to play tricks on the people on earth, performing what we know as a “solar eclipse.”
As time went on, Mr. Sun began to notice something. Dispute the fact that he gave off heat and light, and was spreading joy to others, he was not getting the attention that Moony was getting. You see, people started visiting Moony and making
